Iron ore from Australia to China retains first place, with a fairly stable 25% share; however, the slight decline in iron ore exports seen in Brazil, combined with a strong increase in exports from Guinea, and despite Wafrica seasonality due to the rainy season, means that the second place is now contended in terms of ton-miles between the routes Brazil – China (Iron Ore) and Guinea – China (Bauxite)
Altogether, these routes almost contribute to 50% of Capesize ton-miles.
