Can Brazil sustain such throughput? Sources have warned that poor margins could likely lead to a decrease in planted area for 2023/24 crop year. Competition is also expected from the upcoming US corn crop although low water levels along the Mississippi River and high barging rates are supporting Brazilian farmers in the short-run.
